The Plattsmouth Community Schools are accepting Open Option enrollment forms until March 15, 2009 at the Administration Office for the 2009-2010 school year.  The office is located 1912 E Highway 34 in Plattsmouth.  Any parents that are interested in knowing about this program or have questions, please look at the school system’s website at www.plattsmouthschools.org.  The form needed to apply is also available there for download.

Also, the library has received applications for the Plattsmouth Early Childhood Education Center program for the 2009-2010 school year.   The Center offers a variety of programs and schedules tailored to fit the child’s needs.   As a mom who has benefited from their program, I cannot express how grateful I am to the staff at the Center.  For more information, please call 296-5250 or stop by to pick up an application.

And while I was reading the Plattsmouth Journal, I noticed the new Adopt A Dog feature with pictures of dogs and descriptions. What a great addition to help find these dogs new homes!  There is also a new group formed called “PAWS” to assist with the program as well.  I will get more details about the group later.  For more information now, please call Sue Baker, Animal Control Officer, at 306-8701.

Congratulations to the Plattsmouth High School Varsity Girls Bowling Team for qualifying for the State Tournament in Lincoln this weekend.  Good luck!

There is a Valentine’s Day Party at the Plattsmouth Public Library on Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m.  This is free and no registration is needed.   We will have a special storytime, craft, and treats to celebrate the day!  Please call me at 296-4154 if you have questions.

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone, make sure you tell the people in your life how much they mean to you!
