Cass County Safe Kids
Safety Extravaganza

I volunteered at the event last Saturday. I thought it would be a good thing to get out there and help fit some helmets for some great kids!  I will have to say, all those kiddos that came out to see us, were so kind and polite!  We have some great kids in Cass County!

Lots of fabulous helmets to pick from!

The day was beautiful!  The weather was perfect!  And we all had a great time!  It was such a great cause.  Thank You for all the kiddos, and parents that came out to see us.  Remember, to wear those helmets while you are riding your bikes.

Plastic Bag Documentary Premiers On PBS During Earth Week

Earth Week starts April 17, 2011, and to get you in the spirit, PBS will air the national television premiere  of the award-winning film Bag It, a touching and often funny documentary about how we use and abuse plastic.

To learn more, click on the "bag it" picture.

Edit:  Checking our local listings, this was pointed out to me that it is not airing in our area.  I wrote to PBS encouraging them to air it in the future.  I also asked that they keep me in mind with dates and times.  They are going to look into this for me.  At which time I will pass the information around.

ALTHOUGH, they do have it available for purchase, or community events....

One more thing...

With Earth Week starting next week, and Earth Day on April 22nd I would like to extend a challenge to my readers.  I would like for you guys to take a picture of how you are helping the Planet.

Either by recycling, planting trees or flowers, picking up litter, you name it!  Once you take that picture, please send it to me and I will include it in my newsletter.  I will take submissions until April 25th, and you can look for them in that week's newsletter.  My email address is This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Here is a link to get you started.  50 ways to help the Planet.  Be creative!

I'm excited to see the submissions! Cool

Looking for walkers!!! Or sponsors!
There will be free admission to the park, free parking, free breakfast (Krispy Kreme & Starbucks) and lunch and for the kiddos there is a big top tent full of carnival games to play, the entertainment after the walk will be the String Beans Band (kids band). The lunch being provided I have been told is Arby's, also Blue Bunny will be there with ice cream for a cool treat and that is just a start.

Dannielle was born at 28 weeks...she weighed 1lb 13oz and 14" long. Today Dannielle weighs 13lbs and 23" long. She has come along way thanks to the March of Dimes and their research.
