Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund releases initial assessment results of Phase I HomeTown Competitiveness (HTC) and announces Strategy Meeting date change.  
 
Opportunity Retreat
The Retreat provided an opportunity where preliminary assessment results of the four pillar areas was shared.  Attached is the presentation, as well as, general reactions/responses and our next steps.
 
Strategy Meeting
Date change - To be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the Plattsmouth Senior Center, 308 South 18th Street, Plattsmouth, NE 68048.  Join us for a meeting where the four pillar Task Force Members will present strategy options and recommendations based on the final assessment results.  Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
Based on the Phase I Assessment outcome and community feedback provided during this meeting, the Plattsmouth Community Foundation Fund will determine next steps.    We hope you’ll join us.  For more information on the HomeTown Competitiveness (HTC) Strategy Meetings please contact Annette Wiles, information provided below.

Missoula Children's Theatre Auditions

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that they will be hosting a summer residency of the Missoula Children's Theatre from Missoula, Montana.  Auditions for the summer production of, "Pinocchio" will be held at the theatre on Monday, June 13th at 10am.  This is an open audition for all children entering the first through the seventh grade. 


Approximately sixty local children will be cast.  The audition will last approximately two hours.  The first rehearsal begins 15-30 minutes after auditions.  A detailed rehearsal schedule for each child will be distributed that day.  Actors who are cast need to attend all required rehearsals during the course of the week.  Children should bring their own sack lunch each day, including a lunch for June 13.


There will be two public performances of "Pinocchio" on Saturday, June 18.  The first show will begin at 3pm; the second at 6pm.  The cast will be called for a dress rehearsal 2-4 hours before the first performance.  Tickets for the shows are $5 for children and $8 for adults.  Please call the Lofte box office at (402) 234-2553 for advance reservations.

Cass County Fair Video Contest

Fair Video Submissions are to be submitted as a www.YouTube.com Public Posting via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 10pm CDT on 8/13/2011 any other formats will not be eligible and late submissions will no be accepted.

The Contest will be to create the best overall video exploring the richness, excitement and variety of experience represented by a trip to the Cass County Fair Themed "Carnival Lights, and Country Nights"

Desirable Visual Elements will include:

Agriculture (Animals), Carnival, Parade, 4H, Food, Barbecue, Pie Judging, Young People, Seniors, Smiles, Dancing, Families, Traditions, Future

1) Overall Creativity
2) Editing
3) Videography
4) Sound / Music / Audio
5) Special Effects, Fades and Titling

Winning Videos will be announced August 17th 2011 and posted on the Fair Website; www.CassFair.com as the 2011 Winning Fair Video and credits will include the video creators.

Twenty-six fiddlers and four acoustic bands, from Iowa, Kansas, MIssouri, and Nebraska, competed in the 13th Annual Monumental Fiddling Championship and Acoustic Band Contest on Saturday, May 28 at the Homestead Education Center in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Here are the results:

The results of the Ninth Annual Nebraska American String Teachers Fiddle Tune Composition were announced, and the tunes performed, during the festivities.  Entries were received from Arizona (Phoenix), Arkansas (Paragould), California (San Jose), Colorado (Fort Collins), Illinois (Oak Park), Indiana (Hebron), Massachusetts (Brighton), MIchigan (Romulus), Minnesota (Minneapolis, Saint Cloud, St. Paul), Nebraska (Bellevue, Hastings, Lincoln, Seward), North Carolina (Vilas), Tennessee (Murfreesboro), and Virginia (Arlington)

The results are as follows:
