Dentist's Day is a day to display a big, toothy smile. After all, your Dentist plays a role in that big, bright smile. He's an important person in keeping your smile bright, and your teeth and mouth healthy.

If your Dentist is such an important person, then why are we so scared of the next dental visit? Is it perhaps the fear of discovering a cavity? Maybe, he will find the beginnings of gum disease?  The fear of the dentist ranks right up there with.... the fear of pulling teeth!

Among the ways to celebrate today are:

  • Giving your dentist a big "TY"
  • Sending your dentist an Ecard or stationary card
  • Making a dental appointment(if you haven't been there in a while)
  • Start using dental floss daily
  • Improving your daily dental care routine
  • Showing off your great smile

We go to the dentist every 6 months.  I was cavity free up until a year ago.  I am very scared of going to the dentist, but you know, that filling wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Our daughter, Emmalynn, loves going to the dentist.  I don't know if it is the cool glasses she gets to wear or listening to the headphones as she watches "Dinosaur Train".

"The Fox on the Fairway" is Frolicking Fun

Mistaken identities!  Romantic shenanigans!  And most importantly, golf!  KBC Productions announces the opening of its spring production at Mahoney State Park, "The Fox On the Fairway," on Saturday, March 9.  Reminiscent of the Marx Brothers' classics, this madcap adventure will keep you on your toes.  We suggest a PG13 rating for this event.

The show is directed by and stars Kevin Colbert of Weeping Water.  The cast also includes Mick Kovar, Samantha Colbert and Mathew Pegler of Lincoln; Stacy White and Shari Hoelker of Omaha and Ross Mumford of Elmwood.  The role of Justin is shared on an alternating schedule by Mr. Pegler and Mr. Mumford.

"The Fox on the Fairway," runs March 9, 10, 15-17, 22-24, 30, April 5-7, 12-14 and 19-21.  Curtain times are 7:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  Sundays are 2:00pm matinees.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.  Reservations may be made by calling Mahoney State Park at 402.944.2523 ext 7122.  A park entry permit is required.

Select Tax Forms Available

The IRS has notified libraries that distribution of federal tax forms will be delayed this year due to late-breaking tax law changes. The Nebraska Department of Revenue stopped sending tax forms to libraries several years ago. To date, the library has received the following federal tax forms, which can be picked up free of charge at the library.

  • Form 1040EZ and instruction booklet
  • Schedule B
  • Schedule EIC

Library staff can help you print tax forms from either the IRS or the Nebraska Department of Revenue web pages, but there will be a 10 cents per page charge for any forms printed. Staff can help you find specific forms, but staff can't offer any tax advice regarding which forms you may need.
