This
weeks Plattsmouth Newsletter
I
have to admit, I have been consumed by reading the latest and last Harry
Potter book. Having finished it this morning, I guess I will have to
head back to reality…or better yet, find another book! I typically
am one to always go to the library or bookstore and get the latest cookbook,
heath book, how to raise kids book, but never just a book for fun. I
fain that I don’t have time to read, but I really do. My problem is
that once I like a book and get started, it is just so hard to put it down!
What is the last book you couldn’t put down? Email me and let me
know.
For
you history buffs, I also still have not made it out to get more information
on the sidewalk coming up from the river. I have been trying to
conserve gas and the time is just flying by? I just laugh when people
say, “You are going to have 4 kids in school now, what will you do with
all your time?” I have to admit, last week when three of them were
in VBS all day I thought I would have oodles of time as well…I did not.
It was the craziest week I have had in a while and in the upcoming school
year, my first several weeks are already booked with the things I have been
avoiding all summer! Stop avoiding! It is a great week to clean
out some clutter in preparation for the next big community garage sale. There is free advertising on this website and a great Garage Sale package
available through the Journal, the Consumer Connection has everything you
need to fill out and get in.
It
is back to school time, and the last minute rush. With the looks of
things on the Plattsmouth roads, there will be no last minute rushing to
school these first few months. It will be important to plan now to
have a stress free and safe commute to school with the current road closing
interfering with all of the main access points. Would carpooling help?
How about more walking? I saw a great idea of how a community came
together and planned a walking school bus comprised of parents safely
walking kids to school. We can do a lot when we work together.
The traffic flow and safety issues are a concern and the latest
recommendation is being discussed at the next City Council Meeting.
Keep in the know and check out what is going on in your city…it is all
available at www.plattsmouth.org.
With
the heat back in full force, be sure to drink your water, check on your
neighbors, don’t overexert yourself and stop and have some fun!
There is lots of fun to be had in our own beautiful little county…check
out what is happening and join in the fun!
Still living between two cities
