One Book One Nebraska selection is “A Lantern in Her Hand” by Bess Streeter Aldrich.  This classic book is based upon Mrs. Aldrich’s mother’s story in pioneer times.  The library has a special display upstairs and two copies of the book available for checkout.  We also have the book, “Journey into Christmas” which I love! I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it and how timeless the stories are.

The State History Day seventh grade winners team of Jenna Lepper, Kayla Dale, and Bailey Snider took first place with their exhibit based on the life of Ishmael Beah-Boy Soldier.  The team will be competing at the University of Maryland in June.  Donations to help fund this trip are being accepted by Wanda Wiemer at Plattsmouth Middle School.

Plattsmouth High School Graduation Ceremonies are Sunday, May 10 in the High School Gym.  Congratulations to all the seniors especially Wesley and Anthony who both work at the library.  It always makes me nostalgic at this time of the year-things that I would have done differently at 18.  What is fun now is how many of my classmates I see around town-it is good to keep in touch!

Speaking of schools winding down, last day for Plattsmouth Schools is Wednesday, May 20.  These last two weeks will be filled with field trips, assemblies, cleaning out desks and lockers, and the fun of field days.
