cass_county_relay_for_life

Hello, my name is Janice Young. I am a participant, volunteer planning committee member and the Chair for the PR/Publicity committee for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Cass County.  I've been fortunate to survive breast cancer twice and have been cancer free for fifteen years but have had much sadness in my life thanks to cancer and the effects on those that I know and love. I'm sure many of you can relate to that.
My Relay team consists of a handful of survivors and they too are very dedicated to Relay for obvious reasons. We have lost some very special Relayer's to cancer in the last few years and a couple in the very recent months. We really need to raise more money for research and finding cures.

Sending emails and/or written mail has always been an effective form of fundraising and it is normally done on an individual participant level (sent to friends and family). Teams usually do things such as bake sales, car washes, all you can eat breakfasts, yard sales, etc.

I am proposing an email sending fundraiser on the Relay level as opposed to team or individual level. That is not to say if you know of a team or individual on a team that you want to direct a donation to, you can't - that would be wonderful.

So, here's how it works (it's so simple) ..........
Logon to www.relayforlife.org/casscone
On the toolbar on the top of the screen - click on "Donate"
You will have a choice - Donate To Team OR Donate To Relay
If you know of a team you want to donate to (or even an individual on the team) select "donate to team".
If you have no preference then please select "Donate to Relay"
Whichever way you go and however much you donate, please remember that all the money raised stays in Cass County and may improve and even save the lives of people you know.

I hope you will donate something, any amount and pass this request on to people you know. I do encourage all of you to logon to the web site as well as www.cancer.org for a wealth of information. I did recently for a neighbor who had questions and it was astounding.

Donations can also be made via phone at 1-402-393-5801.

Thanks for helping out when it makes such a difference - it's really appreciated by so many!
