City of Plattsmouth
An update on the Plattsmouth Water Emergency:
On March 20, the City's Public Works Director issued a Water Emergency Order to supplement the Water Emergency Declaration. The City is requesting a voluntary reduction of 30% for all residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional water uses.
The City is prohibiting the following uses: irrigation of lawns and other landscaping; washing down of driveways and similar such outdoor uses; operation and filling of swimming pools; washing of vehicles; and operation of commercial car washes. The City is also requiring that restaurants serve water upon request only and that they use single serving table settings and glasses.
The City's water supply remains safe to drink. Plattsmouth has an emergency connection with Cass County Rural Water District No. 1 to provide water on short-term, restricted-use basis. Customer cooperation is appreciated.

Rees Yates of Plattsmouth received recognition Tuesday June 4th at the
monthly meeting of Major Isaac Sadler - La Belle Vue Chapter, NSDAR.
Mr. Yates entered the Creative Expression/Poetry portion of the Junior
American Citizens (JAC) Contest sponsored by the local chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution. The JAC is the National Society’s
second oldest youth-oriented committee, preceded only by the Children of
the American Revolution. Today, through JAC clubs and contests, the
Society promotes good citizenship and appreciation of American heritage
and history for every child in the United States, ages preschool to
grade 12. Annual contests in art, creative expression, and community
service for all students have a theme, and in 2018-2019 it was "The 50th
Anniversary of the Lunar Landing -- America's Great Move Forward in
Exploration and Technology."
Rees' outstanding poem placed first in the chapter's contest and he
received an award at the Annual Awards Tea in April. It was forwarded
to the state level, then North Central Division, garnering first place
in each, before being considered at the national level where it was
awarded 2nd place National Winner twelfth-grade Creative Expression/Poetry.

along with Claire People of Springfield and Shiloh Bothwell of Gretna.
