Mahoney State Park’s group KBC Productions is opening a new comedy on Saturday, January 17th.  “Perfect Wedding” is a romantic farce in which a man waking up in the bridal suite on his wedding morning and finds an attractive girl in the bed beside him.  However, due to the activities of the night before as his last as a single man, he cannot remember who she is.  Then the best man, bride, and future mother in law arrive to add to the confusion and mayhem.

This production stars  Timothy Malm of Omaha, Chevelle Schreiner of Lincoln, Erin Malm of La Vista and Kasey Vance, Joshua Smith and Melinda Mead all of Plattsmouth.

Performance dates are January 17-18, 23-25, 30, 31, February 1, 5-8 and 12-15. Friday and Saturday night performances begin at 7:30pm while Sunday performances are at 2pm.

Tickets for the shows may be purchased by calling the park at (402)944-2523 ext 7122. Show tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for children. Dinner theater tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children (12 and under). Special romantic getaway packages are also available for purchase.

I have been to other shows that Josh and Melinda (his mom) were in and they are both wonderful so I am sure this production will be a lot of fun as well.

The Friends of the Plattsmouth Public Library’s first Soup Lunch is tomorrow, Thursday, January 15th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the auditorium.   $5.00 for choice of two soups (chili or chicken tortellini), homemade dessert, bread, crackers, and drink.  And it is perfect weather for a good soup lunch!  Take out also available, just call 296-4154.   Proceeds benefit the children’s programs here at the library.

 Debbie Phelps, mother of Michael Phelps and National Spokesperson for ADHD moms, will be a speaker at the Stragetic Air & Space Museum on Saturday, January 24th.  This is part of the new program, BRAIN: The World Inside Your Head.  As someone who watched the Olympics last year and was blown away by the care and concern these two showed for each other; she is going to be a phenomenal speaker.  Please check out their website: http://www.sasmuseum.com/exhibits/traveling-exhibits/brain/ for more information on this program.

Plattsmouth Community Schools are out on Monday, January 19, 2009.   The Elementary School is offering a carnival on Friday, February 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.   More details will follow on this fun event.

The first MOPS meeting of the year will be tomorrow night, Thursday, 1/16 at First Lutheran Church in Plattsmouth.  The meeting starts at 6:30;  there is dinner first at 6:00 p.m.   Childcare is provided.
